Here are some of my favorite art materials.
We use this for watercolor coloring. We used to use tube paints, but they were so messy...so we started using half-pan paints.
The melting of the paint, the intensity of the colors, and the color rendering are just fantastic.
A brush is used for watercolor. It is a Kumano brush, Hokusai Series 200, which is designated as a traditional craft.
We have tried many brushes, but this one is the easiest to paint with and can be used for a long time. The consistency of the brush is wonderful! Even after long use, the brush tip clumps together like a needle.
The brush stand was specially made by a woodworker we met at an event.
The black ink is used for the black part. The Montblanc ink bottle contains the sumi ink. The usedup three inkstones are just our collection....
We love sumi ink. That astringent smell! It soothes us. That matte black is unique and we love it.
Even when we dilute it with water and blot it, it spreads beautifully, so we can apply it very comfortably!
This is an old glass ink bottle that holds the black ink that I often use. Because the ink bottle has to be opened and closed by twirling the lid every time...it's a hassle.
It was made around 1935. In this day and age when old things are so easily available, it's very gratifying for old things lovers!
Olympos and Anest Iwata airbrushes are my favorite Olympos airbrush and the latest iwata airbrush. Both are great to use!
The fine mist and high precision of the Olympos airbrush are just as good as the Olympos airbrush.
As a student, we used to look at these airbrushes at the art supply store, because they were quite expensive and we couldn't afford them.
Now we are happy to have 4 airbrushes at hand!Just looking at them every day fills us up .
Masking for watercolor and airbrush! With masking ink and masking sheets, we can have a lot of fun painting.
Liquitex color inks for airbrush use. We have been using acrylic paints for a long time, so we are very attached to this manufacturer.
we like them because they have a few colors, and they are dark and have good colors.
We have a millipen, a mechanical pencil, and a scrub brush.
We like to try different kinds of millipens because they have different color intensity and gloss depending on the manufacturer.
We use different types of mechanical pencils, 0.5mm 0.3mm 0.2mm. Pentel Smash, which we have always loved, and Orens Nero, which we finally got after searching all over the place, are all writing instruments that we are attached to.
Dipping pens are used by cartoonists. We use them to draw thin lines in black ink or ink.
There are round pens, G pens, and school pens, but we like the fine lines of the round pens the best. The ink runs out quickly, gets stuck... very difficult to handle ...😭
Design knife for cutting masking sheets. The design knives on the market are too hard to hold...
We happened to find a handmade wooden design knife at an event and it's wonderful and easy to hold❗️We love it.
Various rulers, nostalgic protractors! The surprisingly useful freeform curve ruler, the very useful cloud-shaped ruler. We were glad to see so many different rulers on sale.
Other than these, there are also triangular, square, diamond, oval, and round templates... Whenever we see a ruler of a shape we have never seen before, we just end up buying it😅
Wacom pen tablet used to produce illustration data. we use a board dab because liquid tabs tire our eyes.
We like the design of the intuos3 the best when we first bought it, but we can no longer use it due to a computer OS update... Too bad!
We think the mainstream nowadays is CG, but it is very hard on our eyes, and we don't think we can draw everything on a computer 🥲.
For colored pencils, we use Staedtler Karat aquarell. we also like Holbein's soft oil-based colored pencils because they are dark and easy to draw with.
The pencil sharpener is Carl's Angel 5 Royal. we feel the Japanese manufacturers pay attention to detail, and this is a very nice item. Recently, more colors are available, and we feel like collecting them.
PILOT CUSTOM 845 fountain pen used for signatures.
We had an image of fountain pens as a hobby writing tool, and after using it, we realized how good it is.
With light pressure, the pen is smooth without any snagging.Only fountain pens are so easy to draw with.
Analog illustrations into data. We love German products.
We are not good at photography, but shooting with this camera is kind of fun😁.
I can take wonderful pictures with just the push of a button. It's such a great camera!
We used to draw with a board tab while looking at a desktop PC screen, but digital drawing with an ipad and Procreate allows us to do smooth CG painting with a hand-drawn feel, which speeds up the production process and makes drawing more fun.
We had avoided using liquid tabs because we thought they would hurt our eyes, but we are happy to report that surprisingly it does not hurt our eyes at all.
